Charity Bike Ride
In November 2012 I shall be joining Professor Robert Winston and Fern Britten in a Charity Bike Ride in South America. We shall be cycling 450km in 5 days. All monies raised will go to the Genesis Research Trust to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions that affect women and their chance of a healthy pregnancy. About Me
I am a chartered physiotherapist and acupuncture practitioner and have a special interest in helping couples conceive naturally as well as supporting potential mums through the IVF process. I am also interested in a range of women’s health issues such as endometriosis and PCOS. I trained at the University Hospital of Wales as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1979 and worked in the NHS for many years until starting my own family in 1987 when I opened my first private practise. I have worked in the private sector since then and was first introduced to acupuncture in 1989 following my acupuncture training at The Centre for Complementary Medicine in Southampton. I have completed many postgraduate acupuncture courses over the years and I have accumulated a high level of skill and experience and have developed a real passion for women’s health particularly fertility related problems with increasing success. Through my specialist training I use many different techniques and practice in a very gentle style. In 2006 I was delighted to obtain my Master of Science degree in Acupuncture.
I am fortunate to be able to work with health professionals from across the Western medicine and complementary spectrums, knowing where and when to refer when necessary. This ensures the right combination and integration of treatment for the best possible outcome for each patient. I am committed to delivering a high standard of treatment and I am passionate about my patient’s care. I am honoured to have undertaken numerous advanced post graduate training courses with Jane Lyttleton, Elisabeth Stener-Victorin, Debra Betts, Giovanni Maciocia, Sarah Budd, Zita West, Trevor Wing and Bob Flaws – all national and international leading practitioners in this specialized field. I am delighted to be part of the Zita West network of acupuncture practitioners.
I have now successfully completed (December 2011) my Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and am therefore available for hypnotherapy treatments. I have also recently completed the Fertile Body Method Course with Sjanie Hugo in London which involves Hypnosis and Mind-Body Approaches for Fertility.
